About the Hearthfire Thoughts Candle
Say hello to the very first candle in our new Officially Licensed Collection, created in collaboration with Demi Winters, author of The Ashen Series.
For those who haven't yet read The Ashen Series, Hearthfire Thoughts is inspired by the protagonist's "hearthfire thoughts", the simple comforts she recalls to warm herself through the coldest and darkest parts of her journey.
The essence of this candle is a reminder that even in the darkest seasons, warmth, hope, and light can still be found.
Special Offer (June 21st-28th ONLY
We have several more candles in the works, but we couldn't resist unveiling the first one during The Longest Day Market (June 21st-28th). In Íseldur, the Longest Day takes place on the Summer Solstice and is a time of celebration.
To honor this glorious celebration, every Hearthfire Thoughts candle purchased during the event (June 21-28th) will include a 25% off coupon to use toward a future purchase from our Ashen Series Collection.

Candle Care & Safety
Candle Care & Safety
Burn Time
You will maximize the burn time of your candle if you take proper care of it. With proper care, you can expect the following burn times:
- Tealights (Burn Time ~3-4 hrs)
- 2oz candles (Burn Time ~12-16 hrs)
- 4oz candles (Burn Time ~18-24 hrs)
- 7oz candles (Burn Time ~30-40 hrs)
- 14oz candles (Burn Time ~60-80hrs)
To make sure your candle burns beautifully and lasts as long as possible, here’s what you need to know.
Caring For Your Candle & Safety
1. Trim Your Wick
Before every burn, trim the wick to about ¼ inch. This helps prevent soot, mushrooming, and uneven burning. (Bonus: it makes your candle burn cleaner and last longer.)
2. Let the Wax Pool
On your first burn, let the melted wax reach all the way to the edges of the jar before blowing it out - usually about 2-3 hours. This prevents tunneling (where wax builds up along the sides and you lose hours of burn time).
3. Keep It Clean
If you see any soot or debris on the surface, carefully remove it once the wax is cool. A clean surface ensures a smoother burn and better scent throw.
4. Don’t Over-Burn
Keep each burn session around 3-4 hours max. Longer burns can cause your wick to “mushroom” and shorten the life of your candle.
5. Store It Smart
When not in use, store your candle in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. This helps preserve both the wax and the scent. Keep the cover on, if possible.
6. Safety First
Always burn on a heat-safe surface, keep away from drafts, and never leave your candle unattended. (We love obsession, but not the fiery kind.)
Handcrafted Product
Handcrafted Product
Every candle is designed, crafted, tested, poured, cured, wicked, labeled, and packaged by Lauren in her Seattle-area home.
Because these are true small‑batch candles made with 100% soy wax, natural variations like frosting, minor texture changes, or slight color differences may appear.
These shifts don’t affect performance; they’re simply the mark of a truly handcrafted, small‑batch product.
Understanding Fragrance Families
Understanding Fragrance Families
Fragrance families group scents by their shared characteristics (e.g. floral, aromatic, woody, earthy, gourmand, and more.)
If you know which families you’re drawn to, you’ll have an easier time choosing candles that match your mood, your space, and your personal scent style.
